Fasting, which is an integral spiritual discipline of the Catholic Church, can be a powerful means to help achieve justice for immigrants and other goals related to immigration. Fasting can take many forms (beyond abstinence from food or drink). It can be done in conjunction with activities that engage the mind, heart and body in the collective effort for immigration reform.
Several resources on fasting options, including activities at the local and
national levels, follow below.

"This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own." ~Isaiah 58: 6-7
